Who is the President of Pakistan in 2026?

A. Arif Alvi
B. Asif Ali Zardari
C. Mamnoon Hussain
D. Shehbaz Sharif

Asif Ali Zardari is serving as the President of Pakistan, having taken office in March 2024 as the country’s Head of State. He belongs to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and previously served as President from 2008 to 2013 — making him the first person in Pakistan’s history to hold the presidency for a second, non-consecutive term. He succeeded Dr. Arif Alvi, who completed his term in 2023.

The President of Pakistan is elected by an Electoral College consisting of members of the Senate, National Assembly, and Provincial Assemblies, and serves largely a ceremonial role under Pakistan’s parliamentary system, while executive powers rest with the Prime Minister.
